AECT 1.1
Candidates demonstrate the ability to create instructional materials and learning environments using a variety of systems approaches.
The eLearning Environment contains well-explained tool choices that are documented in the reference section and were chosen based on scholarly literature and research-based best practices for virtual learning environments.
AECT 3.3
Candidates use multiple assessment strategies to collect data for informing decisions to improve instructional practice, learner outcomes, and the learning environment.
Multiple citations from scholarly literature are used throughout the Multimedia eLearning Environment detailing research-based best practices for online learning environments.
AECT 3.5
Candidates foster a learning environment in which ethics guide practice that promotes health, safety, best practice, and respect for copyright, Fair Use, and appropriate open access to resources.
The Multimedia eLearning Environment follows WCAG 2.0 AAA standards wherever possible, and WCAG 2.0 AA standards where AAA is not achievable. The project uses alt text in each graphic, only artifacts that are original or have creative commons licenses are used.
AECT 3.6
Candidates foster a learning community that empowers learners with diverse backgrounds, characteristics, and abilities.
The Multimedia eLearning Environment targets any student population seeking to understand strategies for student engagement in virtual learning environments, and describes the impact that the strategies therein will have on student engagement. The instructional design of the environment takes into account different kinds of learners, following closely accessibility guidelines for optimal web accessibility to the content.
